View Full Version : Pear and tos question

Does the server have pear installed? Also, I have made a program that will allow a user to create another program which will retrieve a password which is suppose to be owned by them. is that violating the tos in anyway?

sorry for the double post but do you also allow game trainers?

yes i read that.
number 12 on the aup says that i cant use you to get personal information. the file i want to host will not send me anything. it will just allow the person who downloaded it to compile a program which will send them something. so i recieve nothing. that is ok?

12. Collection of personal data: Use of the CirtexHosting.com service to collect, or attempt to collect, personal information about third parties without their knowledge or consent

As long as it's ok with the TOS and AUP then its fine.

Your initial post indicated getting passwords, would this be grabbing passwords from your own user database or from a server file?

niether. This program was initialy intended for personal use only. But then i found out that other people had the same problem. There are many people out there who steal passwords for the game i play. This 'password grabber' is for people who have lost their password, but know a person who has it. I knew that someone has stolen my password and i wanted to get it back from the person. The program will only be given out to people who i see fit.

I also have another program which will delete the stolen password on a computer. like if someone has stolen my password and i dont want him to use my account. i may send him a while which will ONLY delete the stolen account. any misuse of the program is prohibited.

Sorry we cannot host password stealers or any files of that sort, if you would like to be hosted, then leave those files off of our server, it can be arranged.

ok just making sure before i do something stupid. These files are not to be use illegaly.

Although your intentions do not seem malicious, there are people who will intend to use the programs illegally to steal passwords. By you providing the files and us knowingly hosting the files, will cause us to be liable and we are not willing to take that risk. Feel free to sign up with us as long as you dont intend to host this program.

i understand what your saying. and i also realized some people would use my program illegaly. That is why i also included the program to ask for a unique activation code. Only 1 code for each user. That way in order for them to use the program, they must get the code from me. I will only give them a code if i know them and they sign an agreement.

This all boils down to invading someones privacy and taking their password from the registry without them knowing which if Im not mistaken is illegal. We cannot host this program on our server because we will be liable for any misuse and we are not going to take that responsibility. Again you are welcomed to sign up as long as this program is not hosted.

Hi,

No you may not host these programs or put them up for download, we will not host these materials even if you're just linking them, as you're the one responsible for these files.
