Um, I'm not too technical, but this is the computer I have:

HP Pavilion dv2025nr
Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit (not too bad)
AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology
nVidia graphics

If I keep listing stuff, my head will start hurting.

vista is crap from what my friends tell me. My one friend told me that his comp. idles using 590megs of ram.. wtf?! on my gaming machine I idle around 110megs... I think theres a lill to much pretty things on the desktop. Now i guess if all you use your computer for is checking email and surfing the web, then I guess vista would be alright.. Not gaming though, screw directx 10, im staying with XP until they nolonger provide support.

P.S. josh, Its nice when you work part time at a doctors office eh?

Windows XP Professional with SP2

Specs:
Pentium D 805
1GB Dual-Channeled DDR400 RAM
eVGA nVidia 7600GS w/ 256MB of VRAM (AGP 8x)
ASUS P5PE-VM Motherboard
SB Audigy LS
Black case, Black 19" Samsung LCD, 7 Case Fans with controller,
Black Logitech G7, Black/Silver BenQ keyboard, and Black Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers.

And my plans for a better system went down the drain. Won't happen for at least another year. So hopefully by then Vista's bugs will be worked out.

I really don't think Vista is that bad, honestly. It is super graphic intesive, though, with DreamScene backgrounds and the new Aero design (very cool). Also, I think that users that think it is buggy are full of it (sorry if that isn't a family friend phrase). I haven't seen one bug yet, except on YouTube, but they try to find things wrong. Security is much improved, but can get to bugging you. That allow/deny is the thing that really bugs me. However, you can just click "Remember this answer." Some of the allow/denies dont allow that option, but for your security.

Lots of cool new extras, like Windows Meeting Space which is great for businesses.

Overall, I'm impressed. Customer support AMAZES me! They WILL not stop until the computer bows to them.

Main PC -

Dell XPS Gen 5
3.6ghz Pentium 4 (Can go dual core...just waiting for prices to come down)
3gb memory
250gb hd

2 Partitions

1 - Ubuntu Feisty running Beryl, Screenlets, and Avant dock. Also have Fluxbox installed for some games. VMWare Server has a XP machine for the few apps I need, and a OSX machine....because I wanted to see if it could be done

2 - WIndows XP SP2 - For the games that I can not get to run under Cedega

PVR

Custom built AMD Thunderbird 2.0ghz.
1.5gb Memory
Primary HD - 80GB
Secondary HD - 120GB
Haupauge PVR-150 TV Tuner card

Running Ubuntu 7.04 and MythTV for PVR function

3 - Apple iBook (The old clamshell type)
...300mhz processor
96meg of memory
8gb drive

Running......you guessed it...Ubuntu 7.04. Actually it is Xubuntu, I loaded the light weight XFCE Desktop manager and use that for my primary session. It is a toy...too see how far I can push the old tech

There is also a XP laptop, but that belongs to my GF. I do support it, if that counts

I have read nothing but bad things about Vista...then again I am hanging out in the Ubuntu forum lately

Of course, if you want the totally unbiased opinion on the debate there is only one true source of knowledge

http://www.googlefight.com/index.php...ord2=Vista+bad

I think they rigged the fight

I'll let you all know about Vista in about 10 days or so. I guarantee its not as bad as all the people who really dont know computers are making it out to be

I betcha my dual core processor ,and 512 MB graphics card can take care of it.
