European POP

Following the debacle last week with DC-1, which wasn't Cirtex's fault I know, but I believe affected four servers, may I make a suggestion.

On the forum in the few months I've been with Cirtex I have seen several requests for a POP in europe. As Cirtex has stated it is going to move out of DC-1 would it be a good idea to site at least one of the new servers at a site in europe (preferably UK)?

I know I have seen quite a few complaints about speed from .co.uk owners and a UK POP would certainly encourage more UK sites to take advantage of the many benefits Cirtex offers.

Just a thought.

I think its a good idea, but surely that would cost alot ?

It would be good for UK customers to have a server in their country, as i do have problems with my domains at the minute (.co.uk)

Im sure Cirtex will get bigger and be like rackspace one day, as its got the customer support staff, its got a good reputation, nearly all customers are happy.

Yes, I'm sure they will want to venture into the EU for their customers and it is probaly on their to do list already. We've just got to realise it will take research and time for it to be successfully set up so I doubt we will get the new DC in the EU, fingers crossed for the future though.

I live in europe too but having a website hosted here cost more money, unless the provider has his server in the US of course. That is why I always signup for hosting in US or Canada.

That's very true, we're going to be adding European bandwidth later this month for DC3 so it will increase speed to European users/customers.

I`m on dc3 and nowadays my website is working extremely fast i dont know why Even my adsl 256kbit works quite good on my website which is usually not good at speed
