Sign-up – Could not be easier, everything is laid out and very clear as to what is and is not allowed. Forum was very responsive to some out of the ordinary pre-sales questions, and continues to do so for new members. Price was very good, especially with the fill year plan and a discount code.
Performance – Very good. Site speeds are fairly constant, with a few slow periods during the busy times of the day. Considering this is a shared host with ffmpeg being used I am quite pleased with the overall speed.
Reliability – I have had one period of major down time, the result of a larger issue outside of the hosts control. I have also had sporadic down periods not lasting more than 5 minutes, apparently due to rebooting of servers. This can be expected on a shared host that is performing a lot of work to keep things running smooth for there clients. I would not say there were more than 5 of these periods, based on the MySQL error emails.
Support – My support issues have been primarily configuration changes. In this the support team has been incredibly responsive. I had an MX record change, and a wildcard domain setup. Both were completed within what I would consider a very fast timeframe. The only other support issue came from the above mentioned down time, and in this support was active all day working to resolve the issues.
Community – The forum has an empty feel to it, and is uses more for client to admin communication than peer to peer support. I can not fault the host for this, as communities grow based on the needs of the members. It may be simply that the clients find less of a need to come to the forum. Questions asked on the forum are responded to very quickly by the admins, and those that do spend time on the forums are very knowledgeable and are quick to offer support.
In all, for the price this is a very good web host. The support is very responsive, updates the forums quickly, and knows what they are doing. I think that is where you really get your moneys worth, as hosting is hosting…it is the people behind it that makes or breaks it.
