Just noticed here (http://developers.slashdot.org/developers/07/07/14/0646216.shtml) that php4 is approaching End Of Life on February 5th, 2008.

any comments?

Or anyone have migration plans? I bet I will probably have something effected by this... I hope it goes smooth.

I hope this does not mean the servers here at cirtex will no longer use php4?

If so I am screwed, because one of my scripts hates php 5 and will not run on it.

Please tell me it is not so,

Im sure cirtex will keep both php5 and 4, and if php6 is out, php6 as well.

They'll most like keep the most recent stable version of PHP4 installed, it only makes sense.

Because of the high volume of sites on our servers that require php4 we have to keep it on the servers. It is unfortunate however, since php5 has been out for so long. The stability of php5 is not much of an issue anymore.

As a programmer myself, I am a big advocate of php5.
