I would like to say that Cirtex is great. but I canceled my account today. I will come back soon when I have time. I would like to suggest 2 things. Updating mysql to 5 or 6 and try to get together with http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin/ (the php motion doesn't really have a good swf player.)

I have been trying to get something like this, and the last host I was with was still in mysql 3 and they don't have anything.

We are always updating our software and hardware as necessary but MySQL5/6 is still unstable and can be incompatible with many applications thus we're still sticking to MySQL4.1 for the time being but we definitely have plans for global upgrades in the near future.

The dolpin site says mysql 4.0.20, so you should be fine with the current 4.1. I don't think mysql is your issue, as cirtex is using above the minimum requirement for this script. You may have some issues with the DOMXML and XSL extensions and higher (required to run Orca forum) the script requires which is not installed, nor is it stated that it has at cirtex. Everything else should work fine for you, which is met or exceeded and then some. You can install a 3rd party script/forum such as phpbb forums for free which doesn't use the above mentioned processor extensions. Maybe you misread php version to mysql.

Technical Requirements ¶
Dolphin requires the following pre-requisites for your server:

Linux/Unix (Red Hat, Debian, FreeBSD, Mandrake, etc.) or Windows OS, Apache Web Server
PHP 4.3.6 (safe_mode must be off) with DOMXML and XSL extensions and higher (required to run Orca forum)
MySQL 4.0.20 and higher
GD library compiled with TrueType? fonts (for photo processing) or ImageMagick as an alternative
Sendmail or Postfix
shell or another interface for setting Cron Jobs
7MB of disk space and 1MB of MySQL DB space for installation
8MB of disk space and 50KB of MySQL DB space for an average user
Otherwise you will not be able to install and operate Dolphin properly.

Phpmotion is free so what more could you ask for. Some of it is editable and could be catered to your needs. The swf/flv player you would have to contact the maker of the software as they produce it as well, and really ultimately has nothing to do with the host itself.

Perhaps it could be better but all the host like cirtex can do is ensure that the software/plugins are installed in order to run as the maker intended.

Bottom line all seems to work as intended by the makers. All necessary requirements seem to be met in order to run either. Which have nothing to do with a hosting company.

At any rate I have successfully installed dolphin. If you are getting the upload error or undefined error it's the maker of the software issue not the host. It is fixable with a minor edit. Private Message me with and I'll try to help you out if interested.
