Reseller Questions

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a reseller plan and have some questions.

How many resellers do you allow per server?

I plan on running this script: http://www.phpbbhs.com/index.html

Would Cirtex reseller plans meet the requirements?

Does reseller plans come with a dedicated IP? (if not is possible to get extra IPs, how much?)

I would also need to be able to edit DNS and httpd.conf to enable wildcard dns, possible?

Hi Rod,

The amount of resellers placed on a single server depends on usage and many other factors. In the event a server becomes overloaded we have methods which will keep the server at top speeds.

Our service does meet the minimum requirements for the phpBB 3 forum script.

Our reseller plans do not include IP address(es), however can be purchased separately for $3/month per IP address.

Although you will not have direct access to httpd.conf, we do not mind making updates as necessary, just send in a support ticket and we can modify the configuration of any of your accounts for you.

Note the Semi-Dedicated plans do not include WHM access. You will be able to add as many addon/parked/sub domains as you'd like, however.

Yep, thanks for the heads up... in fact I don't plan on reselling space anyway. Its for my own use, so I should be ok.

Hmm in fact, Matt... I just noticed now. I won't be able to add real extra domains?

I've already ordered the SD-1 and am checking on cpanel now, I see only addon domain option. I don't plan on selling hosting, but I would need to use different domain names, real ones, not addon.

Can this be done on SD?

you mean a domain1.com will go to the same site as domain2.com? that is possible in cpanel. use a parked domain to do that.

Thanks for the reply Parody, but I think I screwed up hehe.

I do need to be able to create real accounts for each domain separately, I have several domains and I would need email (name@dn1.com name@dn2, etc.) and several other settings will need to be done individually to each domain, so for that, I believe I'll need WHM.

I jumped the gun and ordered semi dedicated ;]

Just submitted a ticket to see what can be done.

Hi Rod, I have add-on domains on top of my primary domain and I am able to create e-mail addresses for each unique domain via cpanel - me@1domain.com / me@2domain.com etc.

Thanks, I've already got my account transfered to a RC plan. I do prefer to be able to manage my domains individually, hence WHM. I guess I'm used to it like that, I've always used Plesk so I didn't know the difference between WHM and CPanel. And since I don't plan on reselling, I went for SD. ;]

Anyway, all sorted out now.
