Clip Share ot Youtube clone

What is the difference between Clip Share ( http://www.clip-share.com/index.html )software and the youtube clone install that you offer for free?
Clip share says it comes with a template and they will set it up on your hosting servers for me (for a price) then I come over here and you have a service called youtube clone. I am confused can you help me understand?
Thank you.

I want a youtube like site like this http://darkside.clipsharedemo.com/ from clip share, what do I do?

Clipshare is obviously a commercial pay script where as the youtube clone cirtex offers is free open source.

It's no secret it's phpmotion, which cirtex now offers a auto installer that is still in beta or you can install it yourself as well.

Not a whole lot of difference except price. The auto installer is free for members. Go with the auto installer, or if you are familiar with installing scripts download it from phpmotion.com and test it out and install yourself.

I'm not sure what clipshare wants these days but I know they're not cheap.

Only real issue is they put a very small link on the bottom of the page that says powered by phpmotion. You can pay phpmotion.com to remove the link if you want, and there are some free templates emerging.

If you are familiar with php or html you can edit certain files to customize the script to your needs. This cirtex doesn't support as you are altering the script but it's pretty easy and many members will help guide you or provide tips here in the forums if you ask.

Just my little input.

dvdriot summed up the differences pretty well.

The free installer for the PHPmotion software can be found at the URL below.
http://www.cirtexhosting.com/scripts/video/

Otherwise, you can purchase Clipshare from http://clip-share.com/. They have two version available which you can demo and purchase on that site.

Our servers fully support both scripts.

I would recommend going to buyscripts.in and buying their clone. It's only $10, and is a lot less buggy than this open source script. Plus they'll do regular updates to correct any problems you might encounter. It's what I use on sportsgamingtv.com (currently down due to ddos attack on Milky server), and am quite pleased, especially for the price.

I'll check the script out. The website doesn't look very professional, but then again sometimes good things come in small packages.

I'm not a big fan of open source myself. Nothing but problems that are not addressed. I would personally rather spend a few $'s on something that was updated and offered support.

I've tried a few scripts that support just plain is missing, and registration/licensing is more than some of the big boys offer with a fairly stable script and decent support.

It just amazes me how much some of these want for a buggy script.

It is pretty close to the same program. 90% of these youtube clones have the same base script (I have the original script too, and it sucks), but they have all done various bug fixes, some more than others. BuyScripts.in has done more than most others in terms of fixing the bugs. Plus, if you go to their forum, you will see that they are actively working on new features and enhancements. For $10, I'd have to say that I got far more than my money's worth out of the script.

PHPMotion does offer updates and support via their forum. They are also planning on releasing PHPMotion v2. Open source software also has benefits like the ability to edit and customize the software to perfectly fit your needs.

That is certainly a big benefit. The one I am using has all of the php files zend-coded, so I do not have access to them. I can only edit the smarty templates, which is good enough for most people, but if I ever wanted to do custom programming and customization, I'd be at the mercy of BuyScripts.

osTube has been a royal pain for me, both here at Cirtex and at CrayonHost.

The support forum is in German which forces me to Google translate alot and second guess, at times.
osTube is a very nice script - but difficult to configure and get running smoothly.

phpMotion is also nice, but lacks many features I would like to see in an interactive script,
such as better user management and more security.
I find myself adding 3rd party flood and ban scripts and manually editing the sql alot.

If anyone is also attempting to figure out osTube or develop addons for phpMotion,
you may contact me at AIM: themeplaza in hopes of finding solutions to problems.
Does anyone have experience with the vShare that may give a general overview?

I'm in a similiar boat. New to Cirtex and so far have been happy. I have a medium traffic SMF forum I'd like to integrate video sharing into.

The php motion script would not install for me. I have a PM to Cirtex Andrew on it...

I am also looking at OStube, but it is hard to get past the German...I downloaded the free version to see if it will meet my needs, but I wonder about the price of the full version?

My hope is to intergrate videosharing into my SMF/Tinyportal forum so I can control uploads of video via the SMF/TP membergroups....

Anyone out there doing that?

Opinions?

Thanks,
Scott

All the YouTube clones are the same

All YouTube clones are the same:

http://www.clip-share.com/ (Clip-Share)
http://www.phpmotion.com/ (PHPmotion)
http://www.phpmotion.com/ (Alstrasoft)
http://www.vshare.in/ (vSahre) $ 10

It seems the YouTube source code was copied illegaly from the inside before it was sold to Google for $ 1.65 billion dollars and re-sold to several suspicious characters.

If you notice all work the same style. Templates can change but not the PHP programming structure.

Regards
