when i have tried to add a power point file it will not open directly i'm using office 2007 is that effect?

You should be able to simply upload it and link to it. There are many powerpoint files on the web. What happens when you try to open it?

Keep in mind that since you are using Office 2007, only those who have Office '07 will be able to view your .ppt file unless you save it with compatibility for "legacy" (aka older) versions.
