is there a FAQ or Instruction page to use telnet or shell access once activated? Or is it pretty much standard and straight forward, in repects to connecting to the server.

SSH is a very complicated thing to use for a newbie - I think you should try to help your customers out more.

Yes we do help our customers with SSH/Telnet if they need assistance via our Helpdesk.
