I've been floating around a million for a long time now and can't seem to get below that at all. Maybe I should install the toolbar and see if that helps. Does it?

The toolbar does help as the results from that is what Alexa use to rank sites.

I guess in turn it will end up ranking other sites that I visit too. What about info they collect from the use of the toolbar?

All those tool bars record some level of your activity so do watch out!

It basically collects what sites you visit, who long you visit and how many pages you view and so on. It also makes a note of what country you come from.

Even so why would you want info about where you visit and such collected about you?

I am not saying you would.... I was just informing fuzzyse of what it collects so he can make his own decision.

I have one site at 434,232 I think I have to work at that one a little more to get the figure down.

What any of those toolbars keep is only known by the toolbar owners. They can say one thing and do a next hence I have none installed.

I would not say it is all bogus. There is a lot of very good information there, especially if you are not manipulating your own stats.
